Thornybush Airport Media

Airport media specialists Airport Media and Thornybush Game Lodges recently launched their first outdoor advertising campaign at O.R.Tambo International Airport. Capturing the essence of the bush experience, Thornybush’s one-of-a-kind sites show brilliant displays of a free-standing giraffe and lion gazing up at a giant acacia tree with the tagline “get this close” and the Thornybush website prominently displayed.
The 9 x 6m sites are perfectly positioned outside O.R. Tambo as the first and last graphic local and international travellers will see when arriving at or departing from the airport. This eye catching campaign was put together by a team of creative people; aside from Airport Media, Metropolitan Republic was the advertising agency, Tone Digital the print company and Flighting Boyz devised the changes to the structures and flighted the material.

Not to mention the daring of Thornybush, a world-class collection of luxury safari resorts. “Thornybush offers a luxury yet authentic bush experience to guests. We wanted to convey that in our advertising. I believe outdoor has enormous merit in attracting our target market, particularly when so well positioned around O.R. Tambo International, where our prospective guests certainly cannot miss these fantastic ads,” says Nic Griffin, CEO of The Thornybush Collection.

“Thornybush’s decision to position its ads outside the airport was a strategic one that points yet again to the advantages of using airport advertising to reach a desired target market. The actual graphics are proof yet again that with Airport Media, the possibilities are as big as your imagination,” says Suzanne Roberts of Airport Media.
