The Times in-flight with Mango

The Times newspaper has taken to the skies with a three month onboard campaign with Mango. Since the beginning of May until the end of July, The Times ran an interactive campaign onboard 2,200 Mango flights and reaching 375,000 passengers.

Each week, The Times randomly drew a winner and gave away R5000 in cash to a lucky passenger who filled in the onboard competition form. A total of R 75,000 in cash prizes was given away over the duration of the campaign.

Over and above the opportunity to win, there was a fantastic subscription offer that offered great value to passengers – six newspapers in a week at less than R2.85 per day. For added value, the passengers were kept busy with a word quiz which was part of the entry form.

The onboard campaign covered a variety of media elements and saw The Times advertising on tray tables, headrest covers, in-flight announcements, competition forms and a 30 second advert on mangoTV.

“The Times made effective use of our unique advertising medium and through interaction with the passengers onboard generated substantial leads for their business,” commented Brent Carpenter who is sales director at Six Degrees.
