Outdoor Auditing

Outdoor Auditors was established in 2009 with the goal of auditing the outdoor media environment.  After having audited Johannesburg in 2009 it has now just completed its first nationwide South African audit, covering all provinces including over 200 towns.  The compiled data is available in KML format (Google Earth compatible), which, at the click of a button, displays location, photographic and tabular data of the sites audited.

A variety of data gets collected for each billboard, including such fields as run-up of board, media owner, site reference number, speed of traffic, brand, and category and sub-category information.  Applications of use for this data range from campaign-planning to competitive analysis to compliance with regulations, such as ARAs and FIFA World Cup by-laws. As each board is GPS-plotted, measuring distances between boards and affected areas is very simple and accurate.

Parties interested in knowing the coverage of their – or their competitors’ – holdings, together with data on these holdings, will find the presentation of this data easy to use and extremely informative.
